"Dr. Jabre needs to be fired. I am not the first to complain about his condescending and downright cruel treatment of patients. He is rude, abrasive, and completely void of any compassion. I came in for the worst pain of my life and he was literally yelling at me for not giving him a specimen fast enough. Six years ago, he accused me of being a drug seeker when I came in for a ruptured ovarian cyst. Why does St. Luke’s continue to allow this man to treat patients the way he does? His abhorrent “care” was the absolute last thing I needed, along with your admissions woman coming in and demanding payment while I’m screaming in pain. He is an absolute stain on this hospital and fails in absolutely every way to live up to the “FOCUS Values” UnityPoint claims to hold so dearly."
"Took my hubby to ER due to a fall he had resulting in a head injury. From the check in Staff, the Eval nurse, the treating nurse, and Dr Goebel, they were all top notch. We were there quite a few hours but is to be expected with the amount of patients they have to triage. I was very impressed by Dr Goebels caring nature, his wisdom, his patience and the communication. Dr Goebel pretty much saved my husbands life. 5 stars to all the staff we dealt with that night. Radiology, CT, and MRI GROUP. Nothing short of outstanding. Thank you Unity Point."
"I went here in a mental health crisis. Only one of the nurses who treated me had bedside manners and notable empathy. I had every intention to be admitted and stay as long as needed... (for the sake of my privacy, I will be general)... the doctor tried to manipulate me and made me feel stupid for trying to get help. After how i was treated, i did not feel safe in their care. I told him I wanted to leave, that i felt i would get better care elsewhere. He asked me, "Why are you even here?" and he ignored me and was going to make me stay and talk to a psychiatrist against my will without any kind of legal hold. It took me getting the attention of 3 different hospital staff to finally get an AMA form and leave. This all happened in the span of almost 5 hours."
"At this time my entire family and I are so blessed to have the incredible care and compassion provided by the Doctors and nursing staff in the Intensive Care Unit. The whole staff has shown that it's not just their job, but it's their pleasure to accommodate our ailing loved one, to make sure it is as comfortable and respectful as possible to aid our loved one through this difficult process. I won't hesitate to pronounce the morning staff of Jasmine, Renae, and Gracey completely and utterly provided Supreme composure and compassion to help all inflicted in this difficult time. I personally will forever greatful for being nothing more than good humans in a time of need. Forever grateful to all!"
"I went to ER because my grandson was having mental health problems. I wanted him to be evaluated and get help. So ER started the process and told me that it might take a few days to place him for evaluations. And that I or an adult would have to stay with him. After four days and night of waiting, they said they had a placement for him and he will be going at 6 a.m. the next day. Well when six came and gone ,I decided I couldn't wait any longer. I had others that need my care. So I asked to speak with the nurse, the nurse came to talk with me . I told her I couldn't stay any longer . She told me if I leave she was going to call DHS on me and the police would be knocking at my door and she said I should stop yelling at her . I wasn't yelling . So, I told her to do what she has to do. But I need my grandsons clothes and we are leaving. A CNA came in to talk with me and said the ride was cancelled but my son was scheduled for a later time that day. So I decided to stay. This nurse came back with someone else and started talking to me again. I didn't want to heard her and I told her that. So she left. So me and my other kids I had with me were walking around the floor and heard her telling the staff how I was threatening her. And she was going to put it on her report. So I walk up to the desk and listen to her talk about me. It got ugly . I told her how unprofessional she was. then left down stairs to the cafe to get some food .she calls the police on me and wouldn't let us back in the room with my grandson until we all got body searched with a metal detector. I will never go back to that hospital she had no compassion for what my family and I were going through. Thank God my Grandson did get the help he needed but not from that hospital."
