"Death Valley National Park is so big that you really need several days to do it justice. We had one, so we tried to hit some of the highlights. Badwater Basin was definitely worth putting it at the top of the list! Amazing to be standing in a seasonal lake, 282 feet below sea level, and looking up at the snow covered peaks hovering just above. Incredible experience! Take your shoes and socks off and splash in the water. Late March is a great time to visit - mid 80's, no huge crowds, beautiful. If you can only see one site while in Death Valley, make sure it's this one!"
"An iconic spot in Death Valley National Park. But not super breathtaking by any means. There are better uses of your time, in my opinion"
"Outstanding experience to traverse through the lowest point in North America (282 ft below sea level) while it’s currently filled with water from the record-breaking rainfall this year. Instead of the normal dry salt flats, you have a temporary recreation of the extinct ‘Lake Manly’ to experience. Don’t worry, it’s still full of salt, borax, calcite, and gypsum!"
"This was the highlight of our trip to Death Valley National Park. Lowest point in the world, bit of rain this year gave beautiful lake mirror scenic view. Glad we made a trip out on December to avoid heat."
"my favorite place in death valley. the salt flats are amazing and the basin is currently a very large, very shallow lake. when it is quiet and completely undisturbed in the morning the views are unlikely anything else in the park. best to come before 10am."
