"We chose to move our special needs son to Cedar Valley for his junior and senior years of high school. It was one of the best decisions we have ever made. He was challenged to do more and be more than he ever had been before. The faculty bent over backwards to help him succeed and put in extra planning hours just to accommodate him. The students loved on him everyday and even pooled their resources to buy him expensive Lego sets on his birthday each year. He is now 19 and still talks almost daily about his friends at Cedar Valley. A couple of the boys have stayed in touch with him and have taken him to movies and have come over for pizza. He is a different, better person because of the love he was shown by every single person in the school. They were truly Jesus with skin on. I cannot recommend Cedar Valley highly enough. The small class sizes and loving, safe atmosphere make it a great place for students with Asperger's, mild autism, Down Syndrome, and other developmental disabilities. Cedar Valley also provides a wonderful opportunity for neurotypical ("normal") kids to show compassion, patience, and love toward those who are different."
