Reviews of Hyatt Place Omaha/Downtown-Old Market
"I’m not a picky sleeper, I can crash at almost any hotel bed with no issues. But this hotel was horrible for sleeping - the bed was comfy but the pillows were HARD and LUMPY. Struggled hard to get comfortable and fall asleep."
"Reserved two king bed rooms through a third party. We tried to check in early but the front desk said she did not have our king rooms available yet but she was kind and held our bags for us. We came back at 3:30 to check in and were given queen rooms. My sister in law was able to get her room changed to a king but I was told that I could not because they were sold out. I was told the third party reservations will not be promised anything. That’s cool, I can live with the Queen but then I should not be subject to paying for a room I did not receive. The second gal I talked to on the phone was quite rude. We later went to the front desk and the gentleman told us we would only be charged for the Queen. But now that I’m gone, I’m still unable to get reimbursed the difference. Not impressed with the customer service. Rooms were very loud. They were clean. Good location but not worth it in my opinion."
"My car was towed in front of hotel and I wasn’t even in a timed spot that customers use to check in. It was not disrupting their business whatsoever and I was gone for only 30min down the street. The manager didn’t admit to me it was towed until 10 minutes of me begging asking what happened. She didn’t even know where they took it and was completely useless and rude towards me then telling me to get off the property. I wasn’t aggressive towards her whatsoever I was actually trying not to cry because I didn’t know what had happened and they were not helpful. It doesn’t hurt to be nice to people especially working as a hotel manager that was very unprofessional of her and could have been handled differently."
"When we booked this the nightly rate was $230 but we used rewards to get ‘free’ nights. The room quality was comparable if not somewhat lacking compared to other less highly rated hotels we’ve stayed in. The glass barn door was loud to slide and seemed of poor quality. Faucet is so close to counter it’s hard to wash hands without getting water all over the sink or rubbing all over the sink. Beds okay comfort. I did like the privacy/black out blind. We were in the corner room so we could see in the room next to ours. The hallway was occasionally a bit loud and lobby got busy in the evenings. Pool: small, loud, okay for kids Towels: They ran out of towels for both the pool and rooms. Staffing issues? Breakfast: Only about 10 places for families to sit. And older couples will linger while families search for an open spots. First day was eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns. Second day sausage and eggs. I felt bad for staff as the scrambled to keep up with the dishes and food. Dishes were starting to get stacked ridiculously high our first day. Trashes were overflowing. Also staff would brush dirty scraps into trash just to turn around and restock clean fresh food and plates. Parking: $15/night… seriously just add this to the room fee so it feels free. They didn’t even disclose the cost and told me I was paying a damage deposit. Seems sneaky like even the employees feel uncomfortable charging people to park at the place they’re staying. I’m not sure I want to return to this particular Hyatt."
"The location was perfect for exploring downtown - walking distance to everything. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The reception and breakfast staff was okay but not overly friendly or helpful. The breakfast was good with plenty of different options. Eggs, bacon, toast, bagels, waffles, cereals, fruit, etc."
