"I really like the clothing, shoes, snack isle, pet products and summertime stuff at Bomgaars. It's a nice mix of manly And womanly stuff. They sell most anything needed for the house, the farm, or the job. A mix of hardware and tools to clothing, shoes and nick knacks. They sell everything and anything animal and pet related to small household appliances, hunting and fishing gear to lawn mowers and chain saws. It's a good store. Prices seem relatively fair overall (comparably)especially if it saves a trip to Des Moines. The only problem I have with Bomgaars, is lately, items ring up wrong. Higher than price tag says, so always in their favor. Hhhmmm... My suggestion is keep tabs on the prices while shopping and watch prices at the register. Not sure what's up with that because I've never had that problem in the Des Moines store, but, Winterset store; ya better keep an eye out! I said before, if it saves a trip to DM the pricing seems fair enough but having to go back to correct pricing mistakes bites into my bottom line, time and patience! Not cool Bomgaars. Get it together!"
"What a fun place! Not what you'd typically say about a farm implement store but it is way more than that. We went here specifically to buy toys as Christmas presents fot my grandchildren. What a great toy selection!! Of course while I was there I picked up a few other thibgs as well like a sweater for me, a couple shirts for the little guys, a warm fleecy snow hood for the 3 year old granddaughter and of all things, a huge salted nut roll--2 lbs worth--for the hubs for Christmas. We had so much fun."
"This place is ok. I wish they had more to choose from and i would like it if they were open alittle later. People that work there are helpful and polite. They open early enough. The store is easy to find and clean and organized. I know someone that works there and i dont think hes treated very good by his supervisor. Handicapped parking at entrance is helpful for people who need it. The sales they have every month are good deals. They are reasonably priced. I have never went in there when they had alot of customers so there wasnt a wait at the checkout."
"This is a pretty good little store. They have a small selection of a bunch of different items from livestock supplies to candy and lawn mower parts. You can also get good quality boots and winter items. Some things are priced a little high, but they're available. I was surprised when I found a dethrasher attachment for my mower. It was $5 cheaper than Amazon and I had it right away."
"So I went to this new store for the first time to buy a heated water bowl for my dog. I purchased a bunch of things adding up to 130.00 dollars. One of the things I purchased was a pair of leather gloves in the clearance isle, there were a lot of different kinds of gloves all piled together. I tried on a large pair that was marked 13.88, they were a little tight so I looked for a larger pair. There were multiple pairs all different sizes. I found a xl pair, but it didn't have the clearance tag on it . I assumed it fell off but would ring up the same as all other 6 pair. When I got home and looked at the receipt, I was charged full price...26.99. Called in and talked to someone who went and looked and could see where all the gloves were marked 13.88 but said I needed to bring them back and they could verify the price. My wife took them back in and said she was told the register readout was facing me so I should have seen it when rang up. If I have to check and make sure everything I purchased is rang up the same as the advertised price, then I won't be back. It could have been corrected over the phone, but I had to bring it back and have it corrected! I would think that a new store would try to gain new customers not turn them away!"
