Sierra

"I had actually never heard of Sierra until a couple weeks ago when I learned one was opening soon, and I was excited to check the store out today on opening day. It did remind me of a TJ Maxx or Homegoods just based on the layout, but a total different kind of style and atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of products that they offered - though I’d love to see more camping gear. Lots of apparel including North Face and Columbia jackets, swim suits and shirts, and some awesome shoes (including Brooks - and I cannot tell you how excited I am that they have fantastic prices on Brooks). Ended up buying a new water bottle and a pair of Brooks. I was told by the staff that they will be getting a few trucks a week, so the selection should be plentiful and on a good rotation. The staff was fantastic. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. Management was out helping, and mingling with the customers. I’ll be back soon! Genuinely a great experience!"

"I was pleased to hear that we finally had a Sierra in the Des Moines metro, but was also nervous--would it be a solid store? Since TJX took over the brand, things had declined, and there weren't as many quality outdoor brands at other Sierra stores I visited, or online, as there had been back when it was Sierra Trading Post. Thankfully, at the grand opening, I was pleasantly surprised. There were several major outdoor brands represented on the shelves and racks at this store. I found a couple of major deals, too! The staff members are friendly and helpful. I'm a longtime Sierra shopper, and have been to several Sierra stores, including the originals in Wyoming. The Des Moines market sometimes doesn't get the best of a chain's offerings (e.g., Nordstrom Rack), but Sierra has provided us the full compliment in its store here. I'm thankful for that, and plan to return!"
