"I would not recommend this service to anyone. I requested an all over warm toned brown coming from black hair. The stylist said that it would take a few tries to get the exact color I wanted, but at the end of the service I was left with orange hair with black spots/streaks in it. I was also left with a stain on my face from the dye. This has easily been my worst experience with a "professional" in my entire life. I paid close to 300 dollars when most people do better with 5 dollar box dye. This was an embarrassing experience and I will never go back."
"Sam is amazing! I’ve never had anyone listen more then he did. His attention to detail was beyond any other stylist I’ve used, and I’ve been getting my hair colored for 30 years. I highly recommend Sam!"
"I booked an appointment with Monique Doolin. I was scheduled for a color, cut and style. Specifically I wanted to take my natural dark brown hair to a grey or silver, get it trimmed and then have a silk press. When I went in for my appointment, I knew she was going to have to bleach my hair and knew it might take more than one session to lift it for the color I wanted. When I came in, I had made sure my hair wasn't washed a few days prior and that it was straight since I have a curly texture so that way she could apply the bleach much easier. I also told her it was virgin hair, I had lightened my hair with peroxide two years ago but during covid I cut off what was lightened because the salons were closed. When she applied the bleach, she didn't section my hair, she took a chunk of hair from the side and worked her way around until she got to the back of my head. Then she washed out the bleached, used a clarifier and applied it a second time. During this time, it did not process evenly, and was extremely brassy. I asked her if she was going to tone out the brass, and she said she didn't need to and went straight into applying the color. She dyed the roots a dark grey and then tried to apply a light silver, to make an ombre effect which didn't work because the bleach did not lift my hair enough. So in some parts it was light silver/grey with patches of orange and yellow coming through. I obviously wasn't happy with it, and by the time she was done applying the color I was already in the chair for 3 1/2 hours. Because I was having my family dog sit for me, I couldn't wait any longer and told her I was not impressed...she offered to fix it for free two days later and was only able to blowout my hair. I was charged 107 dollars. A day after this incident I got a consultation from another salon who said her application technique was not correct, so I called the store manager to see what my options were. They refunded me 60 of the 107 dollars I paid. I also told Monique I had gotten a second opinion and asked what she would do to fix it and she told me that I shouldn't have asked another salon because they use different products and she's done hair for 20 years and knows what she's doing. The second time I went in she stripped the color and toned my hair, used brass off but that didn't do much to fix the unevenness. She then tried again to apply light silver to my hair, and while it was processing I mentioned that I don't want to see yellow tones popping through and would appreciate a dark grey instead of attempting the impossible. It took her three times of color application before she listened to what I needed. Meanwhile, she told all of her coworkers that I must be mistaken about having had color in my hair previously, but I know what I've done to my hair because I've been doing it at home without salon care for the last 5 years. She said she would trim my hair and do the silk press, but when the color was finished she said it would require me sitting under the dryer for a silk press and since I was already there for 3 1/2 this second time I told her I'd just get it blown out and straightened. She trimmed my hair, but it is so uneven that my bangs do not blend in well with the rest of my hair. When she flat ironed it, she didn't get the roots so when I woke up the next day my style was nappy part way through. She did buy me purple shampoo and a packet of brass off, but it didn't help. I had to take matters into my own hands and basically soak my hair in purple shampoo mixed with conditioner, so the purple would stain my hair and look halfway decent. I will be calling corporate, and I will be filing a complain with the board of cosmetology for this. This is not my first bad experience with Monique, I've been patient with her in the past, and I didn't want to book with her this time around but that's the only person the salon recommended me and I haven't been anywhere else since I was 8. She is unprofessional, lazy and instead of owning up to it she thought it was best to tell her coworkers it was somehow my fault."
"Absolutely love this salon! Kim did an excellent job lifting my natural as well as colored red hair to a beautiful strawberry blonde. Very welcoming staff. I would recommend this salon to anyone looking for great service and gorgeous hair. :)"
