"My friend is a member of a YMCA in a different town and we went assuming I can get a day pass because his YMCA has them. This YMCA refuses to do day passes and tells me I have to get a membership just for a day and they are expensive. What?"

"Zero stars. I have cancelled my membership 3 times and they are still taking money from me which is theft. I had to close my bank account and open a new one because they are even able to bypass disputing charges with my bank. Bad move from a charity organization, careful setting up membership here or any other YMCA, they are some crooked people."

"Unless you can guarantee you are going to have their money in your account on the 1st, I wouldn't sign up. They will try every single day to get the money for your membership and once they do they immediately charge you a $25 recharge fee for having to try again. Also, don't be surprised if they continue to charge you after you've gone in and canceled your membership."

"Man, I wish ANY of the YMCA's in the Kansas City area were half this nice! Great layout. Nice machines. Everything is great! North KC YMCA needs serious help. Call them. Lol"

"Management doesn't do their basic responsibilities. Gym equipment is always out of order usually for months at a time. Things rarely get fixed or they wait till the last minute. Dumbell are poorly managed with loose screws, essentially a safety hazard. When people disrespect equipment, staff doesn't mitigate the issue thus more broken equipment. Gym equipment isn't managed well, cables are old and worn out. You pay for a membership but aren't guaranteed a parking spot because families with kids in sports take more than one car and invite relatives that take up more spots. Variable hours. They close at 9pm when it's sports season. When it's not sport season, they close at 7pm. Sports people get in for free and utilize the gym till 9 Where paying member only get to use the gym till 7pm. During school season, kids will occupy the gym as if it's their babysitter and staff doesn't do anything about the disturbance."
