"I have been here 4 times now and absolutely love it. The dishes have such wonderful, clean flavors, and I love the variety and creativity. I am gluten sensitive and the fact the entire restaurant is gluten free makes it that much more wonderful because I know I can order anything on the menu and have no problems. Tonight we just stopped in for dessert while downtown and I got the churros with three different sauces. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite and my boyfriend who generally doesn’t eat sweets also had a few churros and said they were excellent. We will definitely be back soon to check out more of the Spring 2024 menu!"
"Our favorite was the Hawaiian seafood Tacos! The Churros tasted a little burnt but we still enjoyed them and the sauces! Server was amazing and was able to answer all of my questions."
"We tried a few different items from Bar Nico including the Maitake Mushroom Tacos, the chefs special (2 duck, sweet potato, and mole tacos), pumpkin spice basque cheesecake, cider, and a cocktail that had fig syrup in it. First, the corn tortillas were great! The mushroom tacos were my favorite as the mushrooms were tender and the sauce was flavorful. The duck tacos were just okay as the duck was more dry than expected. Cider was thankfully not super dry. Fig syrup drink was strong and had lemon as the prevailing flavor. Cheesecake was pretty good; Perfect for fall! I think this restaurant is worth a visit! I think it would be fun to visit in the summer when they have the large windows in the bar area open."
"I ate here for the first time last Friday and visited again with another group of friends yesterday for Happy Hour. I wouldn't call this food Mexican, or even Mexican fusion...maybe Mexican-inspired. Who cares really? Maybe people looking for authentic Mexican food... Whatever it is, I loved it! The flavors were complex yet complimentary. Service was on-point. Restaurant was nicely laid out and decorated. They might have an issue getting groups over 4 in as I only saw one table that could accommodate such numbers. Happy Hour is from 3pm to 5pm. Not sure if that occurs every day. Happy Hour is a good way to get your feet wet and try a few different things. Their house margarita and seasonal margarita are on the HH menu. I highly recommend the seasonal. It's made with tamarind but it's not heavy. There's just the right amount. They do not serve salsa with your meals but will bring you a salsa that will complement all of your food if requested. Everything I've had there was fantastic. My boyfriend thought his wings were pretty underwhelming but who goes to a restaurant like this to order wings? He can write his own review. All in all, I highly recommend coming here. I loved it. All of my friends loved it. As I said in the beginning, the only people that may be disappointed are those that take branding seriously and are looking for mom and pop Mexican restaurants. If you want to try what I consider to be modern, worldly cuisine...Come here!"
