Reviews of Desert Art Supplies
"Great spot with a more refined and much better quality selection than Michael’s. They keep the door locked to keep out bums (respect!!!), and they sell a lot more book binding supplies than Michael’s, like beautiful handmade papers. Excellent customer service was provided to me both in person and over the phone. Highly recommend."
"Great hidden gem art supply in Vegas. Kind men working there. My lady wanted some nice watercolor (which they have a great selection of high quality) They have just about everything “paint” as well as silicones, pencils of all variety, stuff you won’t find easily in a commercial art store. They even do framework which the gentleman was very kind. He kept the door open for us since my partner is hard of walking. They even threw in a complimentary paint to try out and we are happy to come back in the future :)"
"My boyfriend and I had planned on a walk up to this store so we could restock on some of our art supplies and check out what they all had to offer. To our disgust and overall shock, we got to the front entrance and the doors were locked. There is a sign on the door that reads “Knock for Assistance” so my boyfriend knocked then I followed suit and then he called them because nobody bothered to answer but I could see people moving inside. Finally, a very tall and older white man opens the door and uses his body to block entry, “what do you want?” He asked rudely. My boyfriend said we’d never been and would like to check out what they have and just buy a few things. Right as my boyfriend finishes, the guy had looked behind him and then back and said “he said no” and proceeded to shut the door in our faces and lock us out without any further interaction. I am appalled and beyond disappointed as I have NEVER been treated like this before in my life. My boyfriend and I are both nicely dressed, clean people. There’s no reason whatsoever that would prompt any place of business to refuse us service. This place will not be in business for much longer and I will personally make sure of that. They tried the wrong couple today."
"This place is descriminating, judgemental and down right horrible. Me and my girlfriend found out about this place from a friend and planned a whole morning out around going here. We both love crafting and were so excited to check the place out and buy some new crafting supplies. As soon as we get there at 11:30am the doors are locked and the Open sign is off. There's a sign on the door saying to knock on door. As we tried that method there was still no answer, so I decided to call the store and upon doing so someone finally came to the door. He asked what we wanted and what we were there to get. Completely baffled by this awful treatment from the get go I said we are trying to look around to see what you guys have to make that decision. He then proceeded to look at someone working behind the counter, mind you we're still standing outside being blocked from entering the store.. He then said the person behind the counter said "NO" then without letting us get a single word in closed the door and locked us out and walked away. I just cannot believe this treatment. I mean we're not homeless, we don't look like street trash bums and are both working citizens and I myself a Combat Veteran. Never in my life have I been treated so horribly for absolutely no reason. Even being deployed to a country that hated my guts just because of where I come from. Talk about an instant way to kill my mood and excitement."
"I love this place! The door is often locked during business hours but based on the weird interactions in the parking lot, I see why. They have so many things I’ve been looking for and I love supporting our local businesses! Check them out"
