"Clean and new. Other than that it’s pretty sub par. Had missed several appointments after being seen for mental health services for years. Was told my scripts would not be filled if I missed another appointment. I questioned the policy and was told I needed to be more responsible. No mention of any way they could work around an executive dysfunction disorder that they treat me for. Very rude and condescending. Will be searching for a different provider. I am aware there are likely rules that require them to see patients at a certain interval due to drug scheduling, but the disrespect is inappropriate."
"Was here for about a month and they treated me like royalty. My husband says I won't get that good of care at home."
"I called the Sioux Center Avera ER at the direction of crisis support professionals to share my firsthand concerns of a family member in an active manic state, the numerous crisis support teams that have been involved throughout the past few days, that dozens of people are reaching out in concern for his life, and the fact that we have him on recording threatening his own life as well as offered to provide them the recording, and the ER doctors response to these mental health concerns was minimal, to non existent and was published on instagram live by our family member. Not once did the provider bring up concerns of self harm during this portion of filmed interaction, and our loved one expressed on the recording that many people are concerned about him but he isn’t concerned about himself which did not raise any alarms with the provider. The ER discharged our loved one knowing these advanced levels of concern and is on camera demonstrating a serious lack of understanding of mental health crisis. When I called to ask how this could happen the ER team first hung up on me, but I did get in touch with a team member who escalated my concerns to her manager. The response from the hospital was “you can file a claim.” Do not go to or take your loved one to this hospital if you care for your lives. Update: We were able to get our loved one to an ER in a neighboring town within 24 hours of his discharge from the Sioux Center Avera Hospital, where he was held until the providing physician found appropriate in patient mental health placement - highlighting the gross incompetence of the providing team at Sioux Center who ignored these same signs and symptoms of mania mere hours earlier."
"I am 32 weeks pregnant went in for fluid discharge and waited over a hour in the waiting room then got back to the room waited another hour before they did anything then nurses discussed in front of me that they had no idea what they were doing along with the actaul ER docter."
"Like most hospitals or clinics, you will wait at times, sometimes for quite a while. Most adults should expect this, so nothing really new there. Some staff are great, others don't even make sure you can't hear and will make a comment about you. Most of the Dr's seem to do well and are cordial. Hospital billing never seems to be available. If you ever have a question, be prepared to leave multiple messages and possibly wait 2-3 days for a call back. One time, I called on a Monday, left name and number, and a quick blurb about what I was asking. Called twice on Monday noon and 3pm. No call Monday, tried again on a Tuesday-10am, 2pm, and 430pm. No call Tuesday. Wednesday 9am, 1pm and 4pm...again no call back. Thursday at 5pm i did get a hold of someone, but they said they would have to look it up and call me back the next day. I waited all morning, no call back. Called back at noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, finally at 345pm...I got an answer and they answered the question. I asked if they got my messages, the lady asked, "what messages". If you have a billing question, be prepared to inundate billing with calls...they don't do well responding, hospital side...clinic is fine for billing."
