"Going in it smelled great. The brisket had a rub that was very non traditional I can't even explain it was off for a brisket. The brisket was a very tough piece of meat that the fat had not rendered down and was on every piece. I had to take the sandwich apart and remove fat then honestly chock it down. The burnt ends had a lot of fat. The Mac and cheese was ok but the bacon that was added barley cooked very greasy and lots of fat. The homemade Root beer smelled off, it smelled musty to me and had a yeast taste to it. The cornbread was the highlight of the meal it was moist and out of this world good. The potato salad and coleslaw were both good."

"Have been wanting to try Big's out & happened to be in Mount Vernon for a meet at Cornell. Well worth to drive if you are looking for very good food & beer. Everything freshly made. Collard greens were some of the best I've had. Brisket and Mac & cheese were good as well. Enjoyed the flight of beers I had. Golden Toe was my favorite of the 4. Will definitely be back, hopefully sooner than later!"

"Great food in a historic house! Everything was awesome except the sandwich buns. They were kind of dry. Lots of butter and toasting the buns would be nice. Smoked brownies were very good. Real Mexican Coke in a bottle was a wonderful surprise. We’ll be back!"

"The food was great. The bbq sauce is a must. I should have asked if they sold the sauce so I can take it home and share it with the family. The homemade root beer was sweet but I loved it. I will be back."

"Liked it, didn't love it. Road trip with my sister & aunt. My sister really liked her ribs. Brisket wasn't as flavorful as some places. Burnt ends were very good. Pulled pork was ok. Baked beans were excellent. Potato salad was good, some would probably like it even more than I did. Corn bread was pretty good. BBQ sauce was different from any I've ever had & was pretty good. Would probably repeat if it was local to me rather than a 75 minute drive."
