Reviews of Subway
"Been going to this store for years and have been always happy! BUT!!! Lisa who, has been the manager at this store quit. ( happy for her as she was treated horribly ) Now, there is some person who looks like a crackhead running it and she stinks and didn’t wash her hands!!! When she rang me up and then didn’t take her gloves off ! I said! I’ll never be back ! Keep the sub!! Dirty workers and dirty store! Lisa was the only reason I would ever come back and I don’t think she will be so bye bye and hello Jj"
"I just picked up two rotisserie chicken footlong subs there at 2:00 this afternoon. I walk in the door and the first thing I see is "L", a manager, coming out of the door from the preparation area. She looks at me, assessed in a half-second whether it was worth it to waste her breath on a "Hello" to me, decided it wasn't, and kept walking to the back. There was no one else in the store. "I'm such a valued customer," I thought. I walk over to the pick-up shelf and get my bag of subs. I noticed it was a little light; I sighed and left. When I got home, I put one in the fridge and opened the other. Parts of the bread were burnt, and there were very few vegetables in there. So few, in fact, that I noticed half of them were missing, as were all the toppings I ordered. There were two small pieces of chicken on each half of the footlong. This was by far the worst sub I've had in my entire life. A four-year-old could have done a better job. "L" didn't even bother to wrap it up all the way. The ends of the subs were sticking out. Nice effort, "L". I'll give it an F-. I mean, if you don't want to work there, then find another job. If it means that little to you to stand there and make the sub correctly, then move on. Obviously when you put out something like that, you don't care. Or you lack sub-making skills. Or both. My guess is both. And you're a manager. What kind of hiring or promotion policy does Subway have to put someone in charge who can't make a sub? Maybe "L" can be a garbagewoman, a sanitation engineer. Or maybe she can be the person who stands there and flips the STOP/SLOW sign back and forth in construction zones. Maybe those positions are more suited to her temperament. Anyway, I took the other sub back, and a young man remade it. He asked what was wrong. I told him the story. I also told him to let "L" know I'll be reporting this to corporate. They'll want to hear this. They'll want to know issues so they can be corrected so they don't lose more customers. Because I'm pretty sure I'm not going back there. UPDATE: Today "L" attempted a smear campaign against me in retaliation for my review. She posted some negative, fabricated reviews about me either through fake names or friends. She used my full name, which she could have only discovered through my online complaint or looking up my account. I'm pretty sure that's against Subway policy. Corporate will definitely hear about this on Monday."
"Before Covid, this place was absolutely amazing. One of the best Subways in Cedar Rapids. Every time I go there now, it's an absolute joke. I was in a couple Sundays ago and the kid behind the counter informed me that they didn't have any meat to make any sandwiches, that they could make me a veggie sub with some cheese on it, or a tuna sandwich- THAT"S IT. And they told me that if I wanted a sandwhich to go to the one by Linn Mar High School, because they had meat for sandwiches. I asked why not the one on Council street....kid shrugged his shoulders and didn't have a good answer. I haven't seen an actual "adult" man this store in years, it's always high school kids, or imature kids in their late teens/early 20's. They should just shut down this place and put a Jersey Mike's in its place- I live a block away, and I drive out of my way to go get good service and food. One of the worst things about Subway is that they changed their menu, and dropped items like brown mustard, chipotle sauce- got rid of Pepsi products, etc. The only constant is the cookies- that hasn't changed in 20 some years. But definitely if you want good food/service- avoid this particular store, and to the franchisee.....start paying more for help, because the toddlers you hire for chicken feed can't do their job to save themselves."
"Went to get lunch. Lisa who was there wasn’t friendly or happy. Why did you hire her? Didn’t care about Subway reputation or customers. I will buy at another restaurant. If she was friendly I would have given her a tip. Poor choice on management on hiring Lisa."
"Food was good, got shorted on mozzarella, took 2 slices and cut them into quarters, and spread it on my sandwich, then was rushed into putting toppings on. Was asked if “I wanted the parmesan and oregano” and I said yes and she had assumed that was all I wanted and started to wrap the sandwich up, I stopped her and added banana peppers and lettuce, she then put 6 banana peppers on a foot long and half a handful of lettuce. Overall subway is good but I wouldn’t waste the money on this specific location. Also was charged my buddies sandwich which is no biggie but if I would’ve been asked beforehand it would’ve been nice"
