"Great family owned joint. Ankeny institution serving something for everyone. Something familiar, something spicy, something saucy. The owner, his family, and longtime trusted staff will find what you like. Added new dishes like Quesabirria Tacos and Tacos al Pastor bringing out new things. Dos Equis Amber on tap and Micheladas are favorite drinks, along with their Margaritas. Love to support the local place with roots going back decades. New item was added recently, Shrimp Veracruz. Garlic butter shrimp similar to a Mexican shrimp scampi."

"Arrived at 8 pm on a Thursday evening. Despite the slow night, getting the attention of the staff for service proved challenging. The food was decent, with a highlight being the Quesobrilla Tacos, as recommended in reviews – they were enjoyable and satisfying. Portion sizes were satisfactory."

"Friendliest staff - it’s family, and they treat you like family. I like other Mexican food restaurants but they’re all the same in this town. Cazador is on another level. Go here. Get to know them. You won’t go anywhere else. Bonus - best bar by far, best Cadillac margarita and best tequila selection. Simply the best all around. See you there!"

"Service was good. The interior felt a little dated. I found the margaritas to be too sweet and I had to buy an extra shot of tequila to taste it (add $6). The meals were good but exceptionally over priced in my opinion $15-17 on average for a meal. It seems like all the local Mexican restaurants have upped their prices a lot but these seemed even higher than average! We came here on recommendations from friends, but with all the choices this is not my favorite Mexican restaurant in town."
