"Employees were less than friendly. The lettuce looked like it had been sitting there for days. I was expecting a little more from polk city but ended up pretty disappointed"
"Placed order through the app. It was my fault for not checking the bag before I left, but I put too much trust in them getting the order right. Sandwich was supposed to be footlong but they made a 6”. After engaging in conversation with a representative of that store, they have not replied to my last 2 emails to make right what they are due to. That and the bread was not fresh. Order was placed at 5:30pm."
"We went to the Polk City Iowa location. The bread was crusted and dry as if it had been made several days beforehand. Service was poor atmosphere was typical subway."
"We placed an order over the phone at 3 minutes away, it was close to closing, which I understand is frustrating. The server over the phone initially refused our order, until she realized we were close, she yelled at my friend multiple times who was trying to order a specific cheese that they didn’t have, as if we had the menu memorized, and she kept telling us that the doors would be locked when we got there even though we would be there before close. I have worked in fast food, I understand the frustration with last minute orders, but it’s 7pm. We are not holding them out until 11:30 on a school night like I used to have to deal with, and the sandwiches take just a few minutes to make and she could have them done before close. We have sick people at home, this is the only quick restaurant in town, we needed food, and her behavior was absolutely inappropriate. Horrid service, the most rudely I’ve ever been treated."
"I am not a big Subway fan but my son likes Subway so stopped by Subway in Polk City. It was 6 pm on Saturday night. The “Open” sign was on, all the lights were on and there was a delivery truck unloading at the store and a there was a woman inside that appeared to be making a sandwich. in addition to the “Open Drive Thru” light being on, there was a handwritten sign that said “Drive thru Only! Closed until Truck is gone”. I read that to mean that we needed to go through drive-thru so I went to the drive thru. The person working in the store got in the intercom and said “the store was closed”. I said she should change her sign because the sign said it was open. She response was rude and condescending. I have never had a bad experience until this one. She shouldn’t be allowed to talk to customers if she thinks that kind of response is ok. I was surprised at the response but my kids said that the store had a negative reputation so they weren’t surprised at all. Either way, not a good experience. The fact that this is how it should go down for a restaurant at exactly 6pm on a Saturday night seems crazy. Why was this woman by herself at 6pm on Saturday? That might explain why she was so rude. It may very well been have been because of the position she was put in."
