"Small but nice. Friendly employee"
"This is been one of my favorite thrift stores for some time now. I would have easily given it a five stars up until about 4 months ago when I noticed the prices going up. I haven't been in for a few weeks so I thought I'd stop in this afternoon. Right away I found myself thinking "what in the hell is going on with these prices?" The prices exceed Goodwill and are not far off of Walmart & Target. I mean... $19.99 to $29.99 for winter coats? $10.99 for jeans? $9.99 for sweaters? $10.99 for shoes? I understand there's overhead to be considered but, it's VERY LITTLE OVERHEAD when you consider that their entire inventory is FREE. They enjoys a 100 profit on everything that's laid at their door. I also understand that the revenue generated by "The Family Store(s)" support Salvation Army programs but I don't see their programs at at work in the community, EVER. There are so many families are struggling right now to afford just the bare minimum to maintain their households. Many, like myself, turn to thrift stores to make the most of ever dollar. The Salvation Army should be there to support the community who's donations supports them. tToo much taking, not enough giving! Shame on you salvation army. ☹️"
"Every time I come up to Iowa city I stop here. They have tons of selection. This trip I found a new pair of fleece lined jeans for $8.50. They still had the manufacturer TAGS on them. I also found a Jean shirt with embroidery on it for $3.00. Good day. I would advise a stop, plan to stay a while to check out all the good deals."
"I love this Salvation Army. Compared to most I have visited, this store is nicely organized and not as picked over. The employees and manager are super friendly. Prices are definitely fair. I've found some great treasures here. Yes, it's a thrift shop. It's full of things. Nothing wrong with that!"
"So I really like almost every Salvation Army store that I have been to was not a big fan of this store. I was surprised to see that they were charging for Bibles I felt that with the Army's Christian Values they would let the Lords book be Free as most of there stores that I have been to do not charge for said book. I really wanted to buy some stuff here to and for what ever reason cash register wouldn't work so I ended up not buying anything so that was kind of a let down."
