"My family and I were trying out small town restaurants across Iowa We stumbled across Darrel’s place and we all agreed to try it out! The service was ok… I ordered a chicken sandwich and it looked edible BUT… IT WAS RAWER THAN MY WIFE I ran to the bathroom and got sick.. This was the end of my journey"

"Don’t ask for their email address and you’ll be fine. Terrific food! Very friendly. You can tell it caters to locals and travelers alike. Will definitely be back! "Darrell’s Place in Hamlin, IA is a great Mom & Pop place with great food. If it’s your first visit, do yourself a favor and go with their award winning Breaded Tenderloin Sandwich (the onion rings are pretty good too) The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is that grandma’s kitchen, family gathering kind of vibe. If you’re going for lunch, go early because it gets busy!!! Definitely will be back!"
