Reviews of Murphy Park
"It's a nice little park with a soccer field, a picnic area and a playground. During winter the walkway does not get shoveled/plowed. It would be more appealing to go there if the walkway was cleared."
"It's a neighborhood park and has a trail good for running laps or being able to watch your kids ride their bikes There is an excavator digger, which is getting hard to find but remains my kids' favorite, and a really cool climbing area that's a little advanced, I had never seen one like it before and they loved it"
"It was really peaceful here, a VERY large park and generously situated areas for kids to play. It's also just a very nice spot to relax if you have to spend a lot of time waiting for something. I liked it a whole lot and it was very nice to swing for a bit, only issue was the missing restroom or portapotty."
"My kids have a lot of fun here. There's equipment and swings to pay on. There's also a covered area with kybo toliets as well as benches that are shaded near the play areas. The park is ringed by sidewalks that connect to a larger trail system in Urbandale. The only major draw backs are no drinking fountains and limited parking. I also don't get great cell reception in this park, but that could be a carrier/network issue."
"In September we had our baby shower at Murphy Park. I certainly loved it, I did not like the rental fee over $100, but if you don't rent it, someone will snatch it up. Random neighborhood kids came up from the basketball court and just helped themselves to beverages.. Table set up was weird and excessive.. plus there is only one plug in if you want to bring warm food be prepared... Park is lovely and well kept, and we also like that they changed the lights to be more environmentally friendly. That's all I've got"
