"I wasn't given a choice to use Nebraska Title--the realtor picked them. I figured since I was paying for it, maybe I'd get to pick, but no such luck. Anyway, I just expected to show up, fill out paperwork, and be done--what could go wrong? Not so fast. Everyone knew about the closing date--EXCEPT the Title agent! I had to tell HER when it was and she hurriedly set up an earlier appointment for me since she had three weeks later as her date! Ok, no problem. Then when I made the appointment and confirmed that LAURA was going to meet me, she wasn't present. I was told by the receptionist that they were "short handed" and Laura was meeting other clients. Who serviced me? The RECEPTIONIST. She came in and started pushing papers to me and asking me to "sign here, sign here". I asked her who she was first--she hadn't introduced herself, told me if she was qualified to do this, or even given her name! Then she started talking to me a mile a minute and I had to ask her to slow down, since these were LEGAL documents and I wanted to know what I was signing! I told her that we may be some minor nuisances to her, but this was several hundred thousand dollars worth of real estate to ME, and I wanted to understand what was going on. She slowed down a tiny bit, and my wife and I just gave up--we just read everything ourselves, which I'm sure the receptionist didn't like. And to top it all off, on the last page (the only one they actually drew up--all the rest were preprinted forms) our names were spelled wrong, there were no spaces between words, and even the date was wrong (the MONTH was wrong for crying out loud!) Now I'm worried that my Title Insurance paperwork was done incorrectly. What am I PAYING them for? Incompetence? Then to add insult to injury, when I went back to do another signature (apparently my wife SIGNED wrong, and the "receptionist" didn't catch it) I saw "Laura", who barked some orders at me from across the room (again, like the "receptionist", without telling me who she was), and when I asked her why she missed our appointment, she told me she was at a funeral for a "death in the family". The "receptionist" who was there too, (yup, the same one) said to me "Yeah, that's what I told you, too!" Well, SOMEONE lied to me, possibly both. Incompetence, lies, lack of customer service, and rude people--not how I expect, nor accept, being treated. As an update, however, "Jamie", from the main office, contacted me and apologized for my treatment. At least there is SOME professionalism there, which I am happy to see. Hopefully some training will be conducted, and we can get back to five star reviews in the future."
