"I have been a member for over 30 years. I purchased mountain bike tire online and was told that it could be installed as a member for free. I paid $10 more that I would anywhere else and as usual the bike shop couldn't do it for me because it had a tire insert or Cush core and that it would cost $60 for one tire. It makes me want to just cancel my membership at REI but I guess I'll just never use their bike shop as the last time I did use it it was the same mechanic with the same result I didn't get a repair or there was some complaining about the ability to repair my bike so I just went elsewhere, or did it myself. I don't know if the mechanic is lazy or it just doesn't bring any money into the shop either way they shouldn't advertise that mounting a new tire you buy at REI is free because they will find a reason why it isn't."
