U-Haul Moving & Storage at Kailua-Kona

"The service is fine and the truck was OK (although it had a hard time starting and the a/c kept cutting out). However, I am not happy with the surcharges applied to my rental. I was charged $66 for being slightly short on fuel (when they rented it to me with 1/4 tank to begin with) and a $30 cleaning fee (even though we swept it out before returning it). I rent cars frequently and the return condition was well within what is considered acceptable everywhere else. It is clear that this location will “nickel and dime” its customers… to the tune of $100 extra on my bill. Plus all the neighbors in the adjoining lot will yell and threaten to tow your car if you park there for even 30 seconds (not exaggerating)."

"If you rent a truck for a day, then it should be 24 hours and not when the store closes. Next, being given a vehicle that is illegal on the road as this is the end of November and the safety inspection ran out in June is not good business."

"Excellent customer service from the in-person team at the Kailua Kona office. This applies to both storage and truck rental. I dealt with about 5 different associates during my term there and each was exceptional in delivering sincere customer service."

"I have rented trucks, storage units and trailers from here and will always recommend renting with uhaul kona. Unfortunately this time I worked with Zack and was not completely satisfied, hence the 2 stars. I rented a 6x12 trailer on June 27 and when I arrived to pick up the trailer it had lots of rubbish left in it (from a previous renter I assume) and it would be a $20 fee if I returned it dirty. I let Zack know about the issue and he seemed apathetic about it. I rented the trailer anyway and had a great rest of my rental experience, just make sure to document everything if you rent equipment just in case. Also Danielle and the rest of the team were awesome working with me I had some issues getting there on time and they went above and beyond to help."
