"Unfortunately, our first experience with the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare festival was quite terrible. I purchased tickets as part of a birthday celebration for a family member. However, due to inclement weather, I requested either a refund or at the very least, a credit for the next season. I was told this wasn’t possible and any announcement of cancellation would be at the venue at curtain time. Though we did not want to attend in the cold and rain, we went as our premium tickets were quite pricey. We were very uncomfortable due to the cold and drizzle for the first half of the play. We finally left after the second half when it began raining harder. I was shocked that the play was not cancelled and when I spoke with someone again subsequent to the performance, I was told that because the play was performed to 90% of its entirety, they wouldn’t be able to do anything. They stopped the play when they felt it was dangerous to their actors. And what about the audience? There was no regard for our health, our safety and our comfort. I am truly disgusted by the smug way I was spoken to by the box office manager and the unwillingness to even give any sort of credit for a future show which, although I would not have been satisfied with, I would have likely accepted. Terrible customer service. Shame on them."
"Absolutely great evening at Sand Harbor! Fun show against a spectacular setting. After reading the parking information specified on the helpful website, we arrived early (6:10 pm for a 7:30 performance) with our preprinted parking pass and had no problem. Our family of 4 packed a picnic dinner with a bottle of wine for the grownups and sat at tables provided before proceeding to our seats. The enjoyable play started on time and the crowd was appreciative. With the youth discount for those under 25 years old, it was the most reasonably priced activity we had all week!"
"Definitely not up to the usual standard this season. While Little Shop of Horrors was moderately entertaining, there were sound issues and it just didn’t have that certain something you usually leave with. Been going for a long time and this year was just not up to par and not worth the price of admission for sure."
"So first let me start off by saying that I am not a big play kind of guy. However while exploring the BEST beach in Lake Tahoe (Sand Harbor) I noticed the stage and lights and wondered what in the world is this place!? Long story short, the wife and I decided to watch a show here and I must say.... I have been going there for 8 years straight. The last show we just saw Mamma Mia was probably the best show I have seen in my entire life. Absolutely amazing! Highly recommend this venue. They have food and drinks for purchase there but you can also bring your own. Don't go cheap on the tickets and sit closer to the front, you will not regret it ! The other 2 reviews have other never been to this show or showed up way too late. Yes parking fills up but so does any show you go to if you show up late! Been going here for 8 years, always show up 30 min early and parking has never been an issue."
"Citizens of Reno want to have Sand Harbour beach to swim. Because of this festival, even on Friday the parking lot is closed while most of the parking is empty! Create a bus line to a festival and not take over a parking space to the lake. This is ridiculous mismanagement of property."
