Reviews of Poliahu Heiau
"Very informative signage. Who knew...not well publicized. Loved the old ruins, would have been nice if they were better looked after. Perhaps fix the signage which is broken and leaning against the walls. Come on Kauai, you need to do a better job looking after your heritage!"
"Very informative and respectful acknowledgement of the rich history and traditions that existed here before the modern era"
"We loved our stop at this special location. It is located in the Wailua River State Park. A wonderful view of the spectacular Opaeka 150 ft waterfall. There's a great parking lot to view the falls. Next to the viewpoint of the waterfall, there is a path that will cross the road for another nice view of the Wailua River. What I loved was how careful drivers are with crosswalks... They stop immediately and let us cross."
"A very peaceful location. Our giude was a volunteer and very knowledgeable. A great experience and history."
"Great drive through lookout point. Nice place to stop before or after visiting Opaekaa Falls. On a clear day can see the Pacific Ocean from the Wailua River State Park. There are State of Hawaii signage to help explain what you are seeing as you are standing to look out on. #AccessbilityFriendly - can easily drive and park to look out from your car (get a SUV or minivan) if you are elderly or in a wheelchair. If you are with a baby or toddler, this lookout point is also great to either get out of the car and quickly take a peek while your wee one is sleeping. This is also a great place if you want to see a lot of wild chickens. They are all over the lawn area and around the picnic tables scavenging for food."
