Top Shot Spearfishing - Maui

"Went out for my first spearfishing experience with Top shot on march 20 2023 and had an amazing experience. The first part of the trip Kua the guide went over all the aspects at our meeting spot. He explained the history and importance of spearfishing, helped me understand how to relax the body and mind which would allow me to hold my breath longer and finally the mechanics of the spear gun. Once we got in the water and out to the spearing location he watched me take a few dives and gave me tips to be more smooth with my transitions which helped me take deeper dives. To be honest i wanted to take this trip to get more comfortable while snorkling and if i had the chance to shoot a few fish it would be a bonus and it was everything i hoped for and more! I shot at alot of fish, ended up shooting a smaller bait fish and was able to get a back up shot on a blue travelle that bent kuas spear. At the end of the trip he explained what things i can work on for next time i decide to go out spearfishing. The next time i am in Maui i will be booking a private trip for the day!!"
