"We enjoyed a great upstream kayak ride in the Huleia River and then left our boats for a rain forest hike. There were a couple of waterfalls to take pictures at, and then at the end, a rope swing jump into Pirate’s Pond for those that wanted it. Our knowledgeable guide Kannen was very helpful as he showed any beginners how to properly paddle. The tour also provided waterproof backpacks and snacks. The ride back was motorized as we towed all the kayaks. It was a fun and interesting excursion!"
"This was offered through NCL as an excursion. The description did not prepare you for how amazing this experience will be on a day with good weather. We had a bit of an overcast day to start the kayak adventure down the river. Our guide was Mitch and he thoughtfully prepares you for the ride. He has cold water bottles and waterproof backpacks to keep all of your valuables. He makes the time to chat with all of the people in the kayaks down the river and prepares you for when you need to pull over for the hike portion. There’s a pond area down the hike where you can jump using a rope. This is fun and fairly safe if you’re not injured or ill. The whole trek took about 3 hours and you’re brought back on a boat upstream which makes it nice to enjoy the river and take pictures. The captain that takes you on the boat is all about safety and will guide you getting in and and out of the boat. This is a great adventure if you’re in Kauai. You can book them directly from their website."
"Great kayaking experience! The hike up wasn’t too bad, it was just a rainy day so it was mostly muddy. You do have to walk through current waters so be prepared to lose balance. Once you get to the waterfall you are able to jump in and swim, I absolutely loved it"
"This was a great experience. The guys were friendly and knowledgeable the hike through the jungle was great. Swimming having a little Fishies never let your feet and paddling up river. The boat ride back made life easy because it was motorized. Highly recommend it"
