"I requested a quote to see how much it would cost for them to resolve the pilot light issue on my water heater. I have a maintenance background and did some troubleshooting on this myself. I told them about the issue and what I replaced. They seemed to also agree that the gas valve needs to be replaced. Now this job would require me to get the part, drain the tank, turn off the gas and remove some pipes and such. Not a big deal but I would have rather had a certified plumber do the job. The problem with them is that they wanted $1300 for the job. A new gas valve cost $287 at Western Nevada Supply. A nee water tank costs around $600 but the tank is not the issue. I declined the service because the price they wanted was outrageous expensive. This comes to show that some contractors are willing to take advantage of costumers and rip them off. Luckily I was able to replace the part and resolve the issue myself with the help of YouTube for around $300. I would not recommend this contractor."
