"We got charged $400 for them to file our taxes it was a drop off… it’s just me my wife and one child under 2. No assets or anything. And they took out $400 from our return! Michael was our tax preparer and I’m honestly so appalled. I will never go back to H&R Block. I don’t know how anyone allowed us to get charged that much for a drop off. We called to ask about it and he stated he had to take it home? Like it was our fault? It should have been a simple return. He said we did give you a $70 military discount.. but it only showed $30. But even then. It would have been $470 without the discount?? I’m so confused on how they can charge that much for a basic return. I’m calling corporate about it, hopefully something gets resolved. Just make sure you ask how much they will charge you before you file with them."

"Update: After the tax documents were located , they worked hard to expedite the filing and really showed the professionalism that I expected from H&R Block. I would consider using them in the future. I had an appointment on 13 June 2020 and upon arrival I was told it was drop off only. This appointment was to have my deceased mother in laws taxes filed so that we could close the estate. I filled out the papers as they requested and left all tax documents, including last years taxes as a reference for them to ensure we had everything we needed. We were assured that we would be contacted within a weeks time. After 2 weeks I called to inquire and was told that they could not find the file and would have to look for it. Again, they said they would call back. It is now 2 July 2020 and they have no idea where it is or who had it last. This is the most frustrating and mismanaged experience I have ever experienced. I will never use their services again!"
