Reviews
"Found this rather randomly. What an amazing place. Feels like being on a different planet. Must have 4x4. Worth the trip!"
"One of the coolest place on Earth. Worth renting a Jeep to see. You have to look at the weather before you go up. I always bring up my DSLR and take long exposures of the stars. The star gazing can't be beat."
"A place like no other! Glaciers covered the summit of Maunakea during the Ice Ages, flash freezing erupting lava into a hard, fine-grained, vitreous basalt. In the 15-16th century, Hawaiians used the basalt to make adze blades. Today, the variety of activities ranges from native religious practices to astronomy to tourism to recreation. I saw three bicyclists on their way up yesterday!"
"Awesome view from top of mountain. The way head to the top was also great to see. If ypu like to be adventurous, be there."
