Reviews of Waipiʻo Valley Lookout
"We stopped by on the way to Maunakea. It has a magnificent, even sacred atmosphere. Glad to visit this. Parking is limited. Little shade."
"This valley is the oldest part of the big island and you can see it with all of the lush greenery that surrounds you here. Stopped by the lookout on the way to Akaka Falls and Waipio lookout did not disappoint. I wish we had the time to go down into the Valley and explore but the hike down was very steep and the shuttles down were filled pretty quickly but the views from the lookout were breathtaking and I’m glad to have had the opportunity to see them!"
"This lookout is about 15 minutes off the main road but it is definitely worth the trip out. The views are breathtaking. I could write 10,000 words about how beautiful it is, but I think I'll just include some photos instead."
"This is a gorgeous place with beautiful views of the ocean. There’s some Hawaiian history relevant to this place. King Kamehameha was hidden here as a child to protect him from the other tribal leaders."
"The drive if self is fantastic to this place. Definitely recommended going to this place. There is no entrance fee. The view is jaw dropping, the ocean mountains with the sky is amazing. I can’t had much expectations when going to this place but it surprised me. Don’t miss this place if you are driving from Hilo to Kona."
