"Kuhio Beach was a nice spot in Waikiki. It has a lot of outdoor activities like beach volleyball, some small canoeing etc. Most of us just relaxed, taking the sun and swimming. Some staff are walking around trying to help out if you need anything. It was safe, and even though it could be kind of crowded, it was very relaxing. Decent public showers available. Early in the mornings before 9am is very quiet if you are looking for some quiet time at the beach"
