Reviews of Hawaiian Electric Beach Park
"Great snorkeling destination! There is a shower station, life guard, and close parking. The beach itself has a lot of coral and rock in the sand, so bring your keens. Be in the watch for sharks and monk seals! We had a seal swim up on our way out of the water!"
"There's parking off the highway and easy access to some great snorkeling here."
"Electric Beach is on Farrington Hiway past Ko Olina. It’s easy to spot because of its namesake the electric plant. There’s a long water inlet pipe used to cool the plant. It’s a relatively small beach usually clean but you will find needle occasionally so be careful. There’s great scuba diving - tons of fish , turtles and dolphins. But beware there are Sharks so if you see the shark signs out , stay out of the water."
"Beautiful beach, apparently one of the best snorkelling spots on Oahu but it’s very rough so it’s definitely not for beginners. The west coast is a little unsafer in terms of belongings etc. but compared to other parts of America/the world it’s nothing. But always make sure to lock your cars and keep a close eye on belongings when swimming."
"My favourite beach for snorkelling/free diving in Honolulu. Definitely not for first time snorkeler/people who don’t know how to swim as the current could be stronger than other beach and need to swim fast to pass the waves. But there are so much to see, we saw countless fish, reef, two turtles and an eagle ray within an hour dive. Get there early for better visibility and parking. Also most important thing, NEVER DIVE ALONE!!"
