"Opened a joint account w/ my daughter to establish credit prior to her military deployment. Despite specific requests to ensure that our accounts were linked and that transactional notifications would be given to me so I could manage the account in her absence ... the account was misconfigured and a single, small transaction resulted both late fees and negative credit reporting for both of us. In the process of trying to rectify this issue I was hung up on, blind transferred and spent over 2 hours on the phone before reaching a dept that could initiate the credit dispute process which will likely take months to complete. update: Despite taking responsibility for not properly linking our accounts, providing me as a cosigner with account notifications and the blatant violation of SCRA which prohibits negative credit reporting against active service member accounts, MACU has on two occasions declined requests to assist in correcting the negative reporting. As a result of this single late payment (a tank of gas), I suffered a substantial credit score drop along with the closure of two unrelated accounts. The staff is always friendly and promises the world - always followed by letters notifying me of their intent to take no action. I moved to MACU to avoid the careless, big bank mentality. Unfortunately this organization is even worse."
