"The canyon is small but pretty. The signage to the Canyon & Trail could be better. GPS said we were there but it was actually another 3 miles up the mountain. Many cars were parked along the road in the way up but if you keep driving you will get to the Canyon. It was not my favorite It was raining & so the trails were muddy & sleek. A woman slide fien the trail so I turned back! The hike appeared steeped & there are many tree roots which made it hard to walk cos’ of the mud. There were several trails from easy to hard but they all appeared to begin at the same point & there was no signage. We passed red mud waterfall on the way up but missed it on the way down."
"Feb 12th visit, it was 64° around 10:30 am when we started. Nice hike with hills and valleys. Some slick spots. Should have brought lunch and ate at the top of the falls."
"Beautiful 1.8 out and back (3.5-4 total miles) hike that has spectacular views of the canyon throughout. You end at a small waterfall. The hike is medium-level hike without many technical elements. A must-do for anyone visiting Kauai. Note the you end at the top of the large waterfall so can’t really see the large drop from the hike however, there are pull offs along the way up that provide excellent views!"
"Real cool experience. Would not do if it rained recently though. Takes a good 3+ hours. You only get the nice view when you get to the end, most of the walk is in the wood/mud."
"Really fun and beautiful hiking trail, but it wasn't easy. For people with physical limitations, I probably wouldn't recommend it. The path is very uneven. Parts of the path are very dangerous for kids or people with poor balance. That being said, if you are a regular hiker, we highly recommend this trail. The trail took us about two hours. We had good weather so it wasn't very muddy or slippery. A lot of the path is covered, so we didn't overheat either. The views of the canyon were worth the hike. The views of the waterfalls weren't very good."
