"This is a review on the front office practices and not the physicians themselves. My son’s doctor, Dr Tamamoto, is amazing and we are beyond satisfied with the care she provides for our son. The front office however, is run unlike any medical office I’ve seen since the digital age. They do not provide invoices. Just slips of paper with hand written estimates of what they believe you may owe. And they are wrong, a lot. If you visit the office more than once in a week this hand written estimate will include both visits even if you already paid them for the first visit. This has happened more than once and each time the woman behind the desk pointed to a stack of 1/2 sheet papers that apparently only get reconciled once a week! Two other visits I was told they under guesstimated my co-payment and needed to pay this difference. Both times their claim was within the $5-$10 range, so I paid it, but it is just another example of how their front office is run so poorly. This group is part of Hawaii Pacific Healthcare which I have been more than satisfied with over the past 12 years I’ve been with them. They have an extremely functional online system and app for a multitude of things. One of which is a simple billing system. I can view what services I was charged for, when, and what was/wasn’t covered by my insurance. A valuable system to utilize come tax time, everything is all in one place. I really wish this office would get on board!"
