Reviews of Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon
"As you are walking towards the ocean, the view of the lagoon with the ocean in the background is beautiful. Once you are at the beach, you will notice the sand is really hard and packed down. There are about 10-15 spots for families to set up in the grassy area, and if you are lucky, you will get a spot with some shade. We didn't stay too long since we did not see an opening to the ocean or a filtration system. There weren't any washrooms around, so we spent some time walking around to find one. We did notice a crab crawling that the kids loved!"
"The water was so dirty. I don’t know how there are people in the water at all. The sand around the lagoon is so hard. There was some white foam in the water. It was so disgusting. The water around the next beach is so much cleaner"
"Place is okay. I do appreciate that folks work hard to keep it clean. It’s a really good place to take kids to swim, especially the inexperienced ones. The sand is not that good, you can find better sand on beaches throughout Oahu. Can get crowded, especially on Fridays for the fireworks. All things considered, this is a decent place to go and enjoy some time one the beach."
"Nice lagoon very calm waters, was amazed with how many fish there are in there, great place to spend a relaxing day the whole family had a great time and the water isn't too deep either, you can rent watercraft for some additional fun"
"I gave it five stars because it's as good as a lagoon it can be! Oddly, the water felt a little cooler than the beach just feet behind it. Gets very crowded and lots of kids running around so if you're looking for a quiet spot this probably isn't the one. Lots of rentals near by as well."
