"this is not even a hotel, it looks like a motel 6. the price you pay to stay in this disgusting roach infested motel is absolutely insane. When we arrived we saw a sign stating they were going to have hotel rooms sprayed (picture attached). when we asked the front desk staff, they told us there were roaches in the hotel. They told us the rooms needed to be sprayed which is extremely hazardous for rooms to be fumigated with us in it as well as theres no proper ventilation in the rooms. The rooms only have AC units making it an alarming situation. We brought up our concerns to the staff and told them we should have been notified prior to arrival to have option of cancellation, they did not care to address our concerns. When we went to look at the room, the maintenance guy knocked on our door showing us a paper the room is supposed to be blocked off. In addition, there was plugs in the bath tub (pic attached) to prevent roaches from going room to room. We clearly left due to the hazard of fumigation without ventilation AND roach infestation. The supervisor told us we wont get a refund at all because we could refuse pesticide service WHICH we were never told either. They are seriously unprofessional, hazardous and disgusting. There are homeless people camped out in the parking lot. Please do not let this happen to you also. The good reviews are absolutely false."
"Terrible. This is a 50 year old hotel with a mediocre makeover, masquerading as a nice hotel. Upon arrival I was approached by Manny who informed me I had driven into the parking lot the wrong way. (I had not, but turned around to find the closest spot for my 81 year old mom, who has mobility problems.) I apologized, but he doubled down by telling my there are arrows to follow, and not in a polite way. Check in wasn't any better. Although I had already paid for the room, including resort fee, I was charged another 25 to park and they requested a $250 security deposit. I balked at the deposit because they dint even offer "incidentals" that could possibly cost that much, including the furnishings in the room. The manager was not polite, and told me that "because we are in Kona" we could expect that large deposit at any hotel. When I told her this is our 7th night here and no other place had charged us that much for security and incidentals, she proceeded to quiz me on where we had stayed over the last week. In the end, they accepted a 100 deposit stating that the only reason they accepted that amount is because I'm traveling with my elderly mother. All of this for a raggedy old hotel that wants to be boutique. Cannot recommend."
"Great location in the heart of Kona. The hotel is a little dated but no complaints as we spent most of the time exploring the island. Pool is nice but we didn’t have time to swim. Parking is ample for hotel guests and is $25/night (not $20 as shown on their website). Beach towel and umbrella rentals are nice. Chairs they use for rentals are very cheap and uncomfortable. Window A/C unit had a tough time keeping up. All in all, it was a clean hotel and served our purposes well. I would recommend if you’re looking for something centrally located and not concerned with the most luxurious amenities. Staff was very friendly and attentive."
"I spent 3 nights here. It was fantastic! The staff was super friendly, especially the two ladies on the night shift. We are from Thailand, and our English is not good, but the staff was very helpful and patient with us. 5 stars rating, and I would like to come back here again! If you’re coming with a car, I recommend reserving parking. It’s $25 per night, and it’s very convenient."
"You can tell that this hotel was recently bought out since there is a faded sign of the old name. I had a hard time finding this place since there isn’t a sign that I could see driving there. When I parked I was skeptical of this place since it didn’t have nice hotel vibes from the outside. Also there was homeless in the parking lot. The lobby decor was decent. I only saw one receptionist the whole time I was there. It could be that they don’t get too busy. The pool looked clean. I’m not sure if they are still in the renovation process because one of the elevators had wall paper while the other door was just painted. You could tell that the elevators were old and they were covering it up with wallpaper. Hotel room had a clean feel. They provided extension outlets in different parts of the room. The bathroom ceiling finish wasn’t smooth for half of the room. The room has windows AC with sliding doors and jalousie windows. I decided to use the AC so that I could lock the sliding doors to secure my room. If someone walked to climb over from the balcony from the next room they could. The room is full of snacks and drinks but they’re not free. You’ll be charged at check out. The location is in a great spot. It’s within walking distance to restaurants. Overall, I would rate this hotel 3.5 stars. Even with the renovations, it feels incomplete."
