Reviews
"We spent 5 nights at the Ka'awa Loa. It had everything you would expect and want in a B&B - amazing breakfasts, stunning views, clean rooms and comfy beds. But, what really sets this place apart is the warmth of the hospitality. Michael and Greg absolutely knock it out of the park. They go above and beyond at every opportunity whether it is accommodating a late arrival or lending you something you forgot. As many people have mentioned the breakfasts are very good. I love having so much fruit and every day there is a new warm breakfast option. Hannah and Gabi add friendliness and warmth to the mornings and are a great resource of local information. In the afternoon there is a treat like cake or cookies and being able to make myself a cup of tea in the afternoon was such a treat. The rooms are on the small side but there is no reason to ever sit in your room. The living room and verandah have so many comfy places to sit and take in the views and the sounds. I can't remember when I have been this relaxed. By the time you leave you will feel like you had been visiting a friend or staying in your own home. Be forewarned that after a few days here you will have a hard time adjusting to busier places like Kona. By the end we were happier having cheese and crackers on the verandah then going for dinner somewhere."
"Spectacular place to stay on the Kona side of the big island, definitely the best B&B on all aspects. Love everything about the place: Michael and Greg’s tasteful design in every nook and corner of the home, watching sunset in the jacuzzi, the view of the blue bay changing everyday, the lush green vegetation, and not to mention the happiness of starting the day with the delicious hot breakfast made with love by Hannah and sometimes Gabi, even the outdoor shower was surprisingly pleasant! Our favorite moments are those spent lounging/reading on the breezy lanai. We love the place so much that we stayed there twice during our ten days on the island. We’re looking forward to returning here again on our next trip to the island!"
"We stayed here for 5 nights and it was an absolute dream! The fresh breakfast every morning and the afternoon snack (!) were divine. Michael and Hannah were such wonderful hosts and really made this place feel like home. Sitting in a rocking chair on the lanai, sipping tea, and watching the sunset every night with soft island music in the background was one of the highlights of our trip. We will definitely be back and recommending this place to everyone we know!!"
"Wow! I accidentally came across this place while looking for a one night last minute booking. Blown away. The staff are so kind. The definition of excellent customer service. The breakfast is delicious and diverse. The view is unmatched. The room is cozy, and the bed is so comfy which is exactly the kind of thing I appreciate the most. The other guests are living in bliss along with you and it feels very comfy and not awkward to interact. I showered in the outdoor shower at night after a soak in the spa and it felt like a magical experience. Frogs squeaking all around me in dim lighting and warm water. Amazing. Stay here. You will not regret it."
"Excellent bed and breakfast! Could not recommend this place more. Michael and Greg were so lovely and gracious, and Hannah was so warm - the very essence of Aloha! Breakfast was delicious, lots of variety and exotic fruits with main dish, smoothies, juices and not to mention, the best, most smooth, and well rounded coffee I’ve ever had! Our suite was beautifully decorated and everything we could have wanted. Bed was very comfortable as well. The view from the back porch is absolutely breathtaking. We brought our toddler and she loved exploring the grounds and seeing the wildlife. She slept wonderfully in the pack and play provided. We will miss this place and hope to be back soon!"
