"I know nothing about fishing and my son wants to learn how to fish. They asked questions to see what my needs were and picked out a bunch of things, explained them and gave me choices. I brought my kids with me and they took the time to ask my son questions as well to make him feel included. Zero pressure to buy expensive things and I was given a lot of information both in conversation as well as in hand outs with explanations and drawn diagrams. It wasn't what I was expecting but I definitely felt like they care more about getting you what you need instead of trying to make a sale. On my trip to the shop the power had gone out and it was a struggle to find things but the salesman was very patient and determined. My kids had a lot of fun getting to see all the different accessories up close. It's a far drive from my house but I'd definitely go back."

"Yet another Oahu tackle shop turning shetty. Owner no like to carry local made lures. Pop Fishing is the shop to goto. Used to shop Brians long time ago. Just before unko Brian sold the shop it was going downhill. Now the new owners....waaaaay downhill."

"I am so glad I did not go to Walmart. The owner of this fishing store was very kind and extremely knowledgeable. He listened to my beginner needs for my wish to fish from the pier in Honolulu and he set me up for success. What he did not do was pressure me or try to up sell me, in fact he spent quite some time explaining my future needs and giving me tips and advice. Long story short, he put together the Shimano Rod and Shimano Reel, put the line on it, and I purchased a recommended lure for a total of less than $70. Also he gave me a copy of the waterproof measurement guide for the fish I might catch. I am so glad I did not go to Walmart."

"My son really really wanted to go shore fishing while we were vacationing in Oahu. We didn't have any fishing supplies with us. We found Brian's after a quick Google search and we were so glad we did. The owner helped us perhaps more than we have ever been helped as customers in a store. He got us all set up with two basic rods/reels for purchase and took time to patiently and enthusiastically teach us how to correctly rig the lines for the type of fishing we would be doing.
