"Overall a great atmosphere! We stayed in a semi private room where our private room was lockable with a key and a shared bathroom in the common space shared with 2 other rooms. The setup was good and we felt secure leaving our stuff. The room was very basic with thin sheets and pillows on the thin side but overall the price reflected what we got! There was a window, a/c and a fan to keep you cool at night. The location is great with the main strip being a 15 minute walk as well as the beach! The hostel is located in an alley behind a 24/7 7/11 but don’t be fooled it is much safer than it looks with access only being granted with a code. The service was phenomenal and a special shoutout to Anton and Lena who were so kind and made us feel so welcome! There are also discounted excursions as well as hostel events where you can meet others that were fantastic! Overall, if you’re looking for a safe, basic setup, and great location hostel this is the place for you!"

"Great place to stay for the money and location! The excursions were great and super nice staff. The free coffee starting at 7am is lovely, too! Rooms are basic with no TV or hair dryer. There are also beach items available for use. Our only complaint is for the guest laundry. We were told 3pm-10pm and planned part of our day around that. 5pm before staff was done using. So, maybe do the property laundry earlier or change what hours the guests can use so we don't waste our vacation time waiting on something we were told we could plan for."

"I stayed here for 4 nights with two of my friends in a semi-private! The staff was super nice and helpful and the hostel itself is very clean and nice as well. The hostel offers freshly brewed coffee each morning and has a rooftop with hammocks to hangout. We loved staying here because of the easy access to the beach (15 minute walk) and the good location over all. Only negative note is that even with the fans the rooms got very hot and stuffy and except for the door you don’t have any windows to open."

"I had a fantastic week at Honu Hostel in a mixed 6-bed room and would definitely give it a 10/10 for a return visit. The staff is exceptional—caring, genuine, and always up for a friendly chat. The rooms are impeccably clean, and having a private bathroom and shower is a game changer. I also enjoyed interacting with other hostel guests who turned out to be very friendly. A tip: leverage the hostel group chat for coordinating activities and ride shares with fellow guests!"
