"The resort as a whole is pretty cool. The staff is super friendly and full of hospitality. The rooms have no a/c which isn't bad because there is almost always a good breeze, but we had two days with no breeze and a lot of rain which made it SUPER humid and miserable. Another downfall was that we had ants everywhere. We would clean the whole kitchen and microwave every night and next day, ants again. The view from the cliffs is breathtaking and made up for all the negatives. If your planning on coming to this location BYOB. There is nowhere on the property that sells food or drinks including alcohol. They do have a brick oven pizza truck on Mondays and Wednesdays but that's it. I would stay there again but make sure to request the two buildings cliff side and definitely during cooler weather."
"Cliffs located on the wet side of the island in Princeville, local shops and activities walk to the farmers market in the park. 3rd floor rooms are amazing and well kept. We truly enjoyed our trip."
"Cliff resort was a really nice place. I love the two patios we had. We were on the third floor really spacious super clean really really nice beds comfortable"
"The Cliffs is located in a beautiful area amongst several other resorts and condos. Part of the resort and guest condos are located cliffside with ocean views and the others are located in a more vegetated area. [Pros]: The resort staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Amenities include small waterfall style pool, kids gathering/activity area with plenty of books and games, free bike rentals, pickleball courts with free equipment rental, bbq gas grill picnic areas (well kept and cleaned Weber grills), putting practice green, Tommy Bahama beach chairs and cooler in the units for beach use, free guest wifi internet, large pool towels, and plenty of chickens! There are also a couple of food trucks that stop by every few days or so. This resort wins awards for being the most green/eco friendly on the island, so that is probably why.... [Cons].... the units do not have air conditioning. This is really the resort's only drawback. It's not so bad when there is a cool breeze coming through, or a rainstorm with dark clouds, but there will be stretches of hot sun and that's when the units really heat up...almost unbearable, especially the first two to three nights while the body is trying to get acclimated. The units have overhead ceiling fans, but some of them don't spin super fast and therefore do very little good. They have also provided standing floor fans to put bedside. Without those you will have a difficult time getting to sleep in the heat and humidity. The rooms were probably a constant 75 to 80 degrees fahrenheit during the late afternoon and night. It didn't cool down to the low 70's until maybe 2 a.m. Perhaps I'm a spoiled, dry climate living American, but having a/c at this resort would make it 5 stars and a lot more enjoyable! Are modern air conditioners bad for the environment? I don't know, but if they are then I'm at least happy that I was able to cut down on my carbon footprint. I guess that made this resort stay a little more bearable, even though I sweated through some of it. Another con is the location of the non-cliffside/non-ocean view unts. For whatever reason they put the main bedroom overlooking the parking lot and the main road that leads into the resort. Because of this, at night you may have a difficult time getting to sleep if you leave the sliding glass balcony door open; however, once you close that door whatever breeze you may have had from the outside to cool the unit down will now be non existant. Thus, a dilemma. We had to buy earplugs and nighttime eye masks to deal with it. In Summary: beautiful and nice resort to stay at, but you will have to sacrifice your need for a/c. Bring antiperspirant, very light clothing, and maybe a personal mister."
"I'm on my way back to the states after a 11 days in Kauai. The first half of my vacation was spent at the Cliffs resort on the north side of the island. Absolutely amazing! Great location. I almost feel like I should have spent all 11 days here. The location was that nice. Be sure to take the hidden trail down to the ocean. It's a quick hike. I'll add some cool, aerial pics when I get back."
