"Over 4 years I've been here twice, once for a piece of metal in my eye (wear safety goggles everyone!), and once for an infected stye that got to the size of pea (painful and disgusting). Setting up each appointment via phone was very quick. Wait times were minimal. Treatment for each problem was handled very completely and professionally. Clerical and medical staff were professional, polite, and helpful."
"Dr. Wood was amazing and so were the assistants helping us with the check up. Unfortunately my experience was tainted by the receptionist. She was very rude and unprofessional when she was checking us in. When I asked her to repeat what she was saying she yelled at us in a very demeaning way, without understanding that it was noisy due to their background music as well as the other receptionist answering phone calls - not to mention the glass divider in between us. What’s even more jarring is that the 2 others afterwards that she was checking in, her tone totally changed and was no longer rude. I have never had an experience like this anywhere so I don’t know if I’ll be returning even if the other staff members were wonderful. I’d rather just avoid the feeling of being discriminated and interacting with such a negative individual. Her alone reduced the quality of the appointment significantly & trashed the values that the company claims to uphold. Appointment date: 12:30PM on Aug 17,2022"
"My whole experienced with the customer services were not good. The first visit experienced, the receptionist was forgetful. She kept calling me Mrs even though I told her my status. I provided my email address for contact information, she didn't get it evethough I repeated it few times with samples in military alphabet. In other words, she was busy and couldn't focus on me. I was worried because she may end up providing wrong information about me. Second experienced I had was when someone called me to notify me that eye glasses I ordered came in. She gave me options on available working days I can come in. Due to my work I couldn't come in on those working days so I asked for weekend. She made me feel like I need to come in on any of those working days and if I choose weekend it will take a while without any explanation and then she said " I'll put you on Saturday and give us a call if you can't do it" they have a policy that you will pay if you don't come in. She was not helpful and friendly at all. I was hoping she would realized that I have work as well. Today (November 23, 2020), my experienced was not good as well. I took off my mask (just one side of my ear) to feel how the glass fit but I was scolded by I believed her name was Rachelle. The language was not friendly that came out from her mouth. I felt like I was one of customer that didn't speak English. We are in Hawaii so where is the aloha at hawaiian eye center? I will not recommend this place to anyone and I actually already started telling people I know. This is the kunia location. I will never see any branch of hawaiian eye center because they might treat me the same."
"I injured my cornea quite significantly and I am SO GLAD I came here. The care I have received has been exemplary. Due to the nature of the injury, I've had to have weekly follow up exams so we have seen a lot of each other lately. Their pandemic provisions are on point and never slacking. I feel incredibly safe here, in spite of the pandemic and I cannot say that about every place I go. The level of adherence to the guidelines to keep us all safe has never slipped. It's a relief to know I will only need to worry about my eye. The staff is very courteous and compassionate and an absolute pleasure to be around. It always feels bright, cheerful and friendly in the office. You can tell it's a good work environment for the staff because they are all comfortable and relaxed with each other. The doctor, Dr. Rhee, is thorough and patient. He takes the time to explain the situation and importance of my treatment regimen. I didn't think my eye was going to be ok but it is healing great now thanks in no small part to the outstanding care I received here. Schedule with confidence. These folks are absolutely fabulous. I'd give 10 stars if I could."
