Reviews of Straub Medical Center - Kailua Clinic
"The front desk is always rude and dismissive. I love my doctor but I am looking to move offices to not have to deal with rude gate keepers."
"Do not come to this clinic or schedule any appointments with Dr. Bossian. He does not care about his patients beyond the money he can get from them. My first appointment with him, he didn’t even check any of the issues I listed on my check in form. I let him know I was having shoulder pain and he just told me it was because of my diabetes. He didn’t even check it or do an evaluation. He just prescribed tylenol. It is still in pain and he still won’t actually check it. I also had to request certain medications from him instead of him doing his due diligence in evaluating my health. Choose a physician that actually cares about their patients."
"I do not recommend Dr. Bossian in the slightest. He has poor, arrogant bedside manner and treatment efficacy."
"I am reposting this because I hope to save someone from the situation that happened to me. As a new mom and new to the area I chose to see Dr. John Bossian at this location. I presented to him crying and told him I couldn’t hold or nurse my first and only child due to excruciating pain in my neck/shoulder/ back. I explained my medical history, including previous medications, therapies, treatments, and provided his office with copies of x-rays I’d had before becoming pregnancy that showcased an already vulnerable spine. He very quickly brushed me off, and told me to take more Advil and Tylenol. I did, to the point I wound up with liver issues. He offered a PT referral but did not look at my previous imaging or offer to redo them. I showed up to PT, but the physical therapist was just as confused as I was and couldn’t offer a solid treatment plan with such general concerns and no imaging. I cried myself to sleep in pain every night for months, thinking it just must be normal for new moms to be in pain. The pain got worse and worse, and several weeks after I saw him and he declined appropriate care and consultation I lost the use of my left arm. My vision in my left eye became blurry, and my arm, having been numb for days, refused to move. For the first time in my life I wound up in the ER and long story short, after many tests and doctors later, found out a disc in my neck had been dislocated during labor and had further aggravated previous injuries. I had nerve damage and because it was untreated for so long, I am now facing an uphill battle with frequent pain, physical therapy, laser treatments, and medication management. Mind you, before pregnancy I was a nationally recognized certified personal trainer, posses and PhD, and a license to practice healthcare. So when I said I was in pain and couldn’t function, he should have listened. Instead he told me I was “emotional” (duh! I was a new and working mom in constant pain with a husband traveling for work during a pandemic with no family support to help physically assist me), and that all I needed was ibuprofen. Thankfully, another practitioner there ordered MRIs after my hospital stay and I’m now in GREAT treatment for all the lingering issues. But the pain and suffering I endured from a doctor that brushed me off and refused basic tests, like diagnostic imaging, or consultation of treating severe pain will last a lifetime. His negligence impacted my mental health, the safety of my daughter as I was unable to hold her or attend to her properly, the financial health of my family due to my need to cut back on hours to get extensive medical treatment, my career I had worked my whole life for, and so much more. It’s unbelievable that anyone would allow him to practice medicine, and I would so strongly caution you and your loved ones to stay far, far away if you value your health and safety."
"They need to post their lab hours correctly. If they won't draw after 3pm. Say so, don't post 4:30pm on your website. It's not fun to get there with a toddler and wasted a trip."
