"Jeremy is simply amazing! He helped me out and boarded my dog when he was barking/whining/crying every night so I could get some sleep. I'd drop him off late at night and pick him up first thing in the morning. I can see why this business does so well and gets great reviews. It's because Jeremy really cares about the dogs. He spent extra time talking to me about my dog's medical conditions, and I know that he truly cared. He went above and beyond what I expected. Once my dog was doing better, he told me that he'd keep his bed set up and ready for him for a little while longer just in case I needed to bring him back. AMAZING! I highly recommend Country Inn Kennels and know Jeremy will treat your dog like it's his own. He's very caring, compassionate, and truly helpful."
"Our dog stayed here for 10 days. We got picture and video updates. That meant a lot to us. In every one of them, his tail was wagging. That told us a lot. They kept a watchful eye on his eating and gave him lots of love. Thank you for the good care."
"The employees really make the place. The building is older and has probably seen better days, but the staff care for the pets like they're their own. Not every pet does well in a boarding kennel environment but my two large dogs enjoy going there and I've been told they do pretty well. I've never had a problem with them not being cared for properly, and they've never fought going in the kennels when I drop them off. The setup is an indoor/outdoor kennel (like the Humane Society in Carson City) with 4'x4' concrete kennels on the inside, and cement-floor and completely enclosed chainlink fence 12'x4' runs outside. The dogs are next to other dogs, but on the outside separated by the fence, and on the inside they're separated by a concrete wall. They're able to accommodate dog aggressive dogs if needed because of this. Country Inn tries to be the lowest priced boarding in the area so you likely won't find a better deal elsewhere, and they do discounts for seniors and service members (police, military, firefighters, etc.) and multi-dog discounts. This isn't a doggy daycare where the dogs are put together in groups. They don't get playtime with other dogs at all, so you don't have to worry about doing a trial day/temperament test. If you want your dog to have time out of their indoor/outdoor run you have to pay extra for play times in the yard that wraps around the kennel buildings, or walks around the property, or other fancy add-ons like peanut butter stuffed Kongs. And they do charge a little extra if you use their food (you're encouraged to bring your own, and they can take any kind of food, even dehydrated or refrigerated), or if they need to give your pet medications. What's nice though is there's no medication they won't give (injections, ointments, ear creams, eye ointment, pills, etc.), which is surprisingly hard to find with non-veterinary boarding facilities. They provide dog hammocks and/or blankets, bowls, and buckets with water, so you just need to worry about food and medications. For cats they have 3-tiered cages. My cat hated it there and I won't board her ever again, but she doesn't board well anywhere so far. They're kept in the office, completely away from the dogs. In the morning they get time out of their cages if they want but otherwise they're stuck in their cage all day. The facility provides litter boxes, litter, bedding, and bowls, so all you need to bring is food (they have some at an extra cost). The cages get cleaned every morning. The cats get A/C and heating. All animals get fed twice a day, but they can do more or less feedings if needed. They'll ask you about their feeding/medication schedule when you drop off. They do also offer dog baths (JUST a bath, not a full grooming service), nail trims for dogs and cats, and brush/blows for deshedding. The bath and nail trim service worked well for my rottweiler, but I would take my longer furred dog to a professional groomer. They do not offer any fur cuts/trims. The place isn't bougie. The dog building is dark and the kennels are basic cement and wood. Things are old and worn and sometimes broken. For the dogs there's a heater but no A/C (they do have misters and fans). If you don't pay for playtimes or walks your dog may get pretty bored. For the cats their 3-tiered cages are an alright space, but a little cramped for extended stays. Your pet either likes it here or they don't. I'd ask the employees when you pick up to be honest and make a choice to keep boarding based on that."
"Our dogs are always happy when we pick them up, clean and rested!!! It does not look Boujee but it is worth the trip past Carson to this off the road gem of a kennel! Our dogs are our kids so we do appreciate good care and going on vacation and not having to worry!"
"Been bringing our dogs here for almost a dozen years since we moved to the area. It is pretty basic but the staff are caring and loving and my dogs always come home happy. Great price for the area. Super helpful."
