"The Venice Boardwalk is at the most requested beachfront to see on tours of Los Angeles! Although I’ve taken groups here for the purpose of walking the walk, with the actual sand beach and ocean more of a sideshow. My visitors have seen this place in the media and are usually curious to check it out. No small wonder as there’s lots to see and do here, from shopping to strolling. As a tourguide, I’ve made it an interesting stop to see along the way, to take photos, eat, walk and participate in activities. Just about every block seems to have something unique, from handmade art, jewelry, t-shirts, souvenirs and legal weed. Eateries range from sit down dining to food stands. I’d advise looking for the letter grades posted by LA County Department of Health Inspectors at or by the front doors. Letter A grade rating is good enough for me! Some attractions here are so popular, they have their own reviews! The skatepark usually draws great ‘boarders and crowds on weekends and holidays. Muscle Beach includes an outdoor gym for public fitness exercises and Windward Plaza offers public displays of hand and spray painted art. To keep the public safety, LAPD operates a Venice Beach substation, between Windward Plaza and Muscle Beach. Restrooms are available in the small multi-door structures, on the ocean side, west of the walk."
"If you are in the Los Angeles area, this is a "must stop" to checkout. It's historic and hip, with lots of options for food, shopping, and even people watching. It's cleaned up quite well and safe. A great place with options whether you're alone, on a date, or with the family."
"Venice Beach boardwalk is quite a character as compared to Santa Monica boardwalk. There are vendors, storefronts, buskers, and people whooshing by on bikes and rollerblades playing loud music. You can find more homeless people here. The vibe is more energetic and unique. You can find the skateboard park, the pride flag lifeguard tower and muscle beach with all the workout equipment here."
"Great way to follow up a trip to Santa Monica Pier. Fun to walk or cruise the boardwalk on e-bike, regular bike, roller blades and skateboards. Saw them all. Has to be one of the better sunsets you’ll see. Great views and lots of fun little shops along the way as well. The skateboard park was really cool and the legendary muscle beach as well."
