"A good clean place to stay. Giving three stars only because I booked it specifically to enjoy the hot tub with my daughter after the long ( 6 h) drive there - I called before booking and the day before arrival to make sure that was working. I even asked at the desk before checking in. But when we tried to get in, the heater was off ( “broken” ) and they couldn’t “fix it” before I would leave."
"Not a bad place to stay if you are visiting Death Valley NP. This used to be the Burro Inn, and there are still a few wild burros that wander through the parking lot from time to time. The rooms are decent with fairly new amenities, although the floors squeak, which is the fate of any wooden flooring in the desert. The location is good and fairly quiet. The front desk is friendly. Maintenance seems a bit lacking - the shower rod in my bathroom was supposed to arch outward; instead it sagged downward. The smoke alarm was missing from the ceiling for some reason - there was just an empty mount. The door had a half inch gap at the threshold that could have let creepy crawlies into the room. Beatty is a bit cold for scorpions but you never know. They offer a free breakfast, which is mostly cold cereal, pre-packaged pastries, yogurt, juice, and other things you find at convenience stores. Still, it is a good way to start the day. One surprising thing I found here is that the water is really good. Most tap water in the desert is alkaline and bitter, but the tap water at the Death Valley Inn tastes like bottled water elsewhere."
"An hour and 15 minutes from Badwater Basin. It's a nice place to rest your head. The beds are comfortable. The hotel was pretty quiet except the pool area when we arrived. Parking right in front of your room may be a challenge as it gets busy."
"Nice clean hotel! We slept great. Comfy beds. Suggestion to Management: Become a Host for Tesla Destination Charging. Tesla installs the chargers for you and they can charge any EV. It is a great amenity to offer and will guarantee more customers."
"Our room was perfect. Recently remodeled, spotless and fairly spacious. Beds were comfortable and WiFi was fast and reliable. Other aspects of our stay were hit and miss. Check-in was bad. I arrived to an empty lobby and had to wait 10 minutes for staff to return. Breakfast was pretty bad. Gas station pastries, sad apples and boxed cereal. The parking lot is cramped. Suggestion to management: if you are not staffing for full coverage you should have meal breaks regularly scheduled and posted for customers and included in your hotel listing. You have seen this kind of thing at the post office: 9am-5pm except 12:00-12:30 for example. Arriving in the cold and dark to an empty lobby is more discouraging than you might expect. You might want to just give up on breakfast and reduce the price differential between single-occupancy and double or higher."
