"We were unfortunately not able to stay there due to trying to beat a storm and had a reservation that was non-refundable due to the weather changing last minute but the front desk manager graciously gave us a full refund so we could drive farther (towards LA) to beat our the incoming storm. Thank you so much for being so understanding and awesome. We will FOR SURE consider staying here (when the weather permits) if we come this way again."

"Similar to a few other reviewers, we stumbled upon Hawthorne's Best Inn as an unexpected rest stop on our long drive. After reading a few reviews of the town's options, we decided to drive up and make a reservation at Hawthorne's Best Inn, and oh boy - we are so glad we did! Hawthorne's Best Inn was a no-thrills, you get what you pay for type of place. Yes, it is a bit dated, but for the convenience, price and location, we really couldn't have asked for more. The gentleman at the front desk was the real star of our experience. He was so kind, patient, courtesy and helpful. We checked in pretty late and he still went out of his way to make sure everything was squared away. We only stayed a night, but we're definitely going to remember Hawthorne's Best Inn’s unique charm for a very long time. When we got up to leave early the next day, the place was so quiet, relaxing and peaceful. Honestly, it was perfect for what we needed and at an affordable price!"

"Perhaps the cleanest room I've ever stayed in. Comfortable beds; although the pillows were a bit hard for my liking. Immediate hot water! Very friendly owners. Will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Hawthorne."

"This was a last min stay on a cross country camping trip. I admit at first I was a little skeptical due to the building being a little dated but I was pleasantly surprised. This place ended up being exactly what we needed, the owner was extremely friendly and check in was flawless. The room was spotless and kept up on, you can tell the owners really care about this property. I would stay here again without a second thought. I’m not sure what the deal is with some of the negative reviews on here but take them with a grain of salt. This is a extremely clean and well taken care of location. If I’m ever in the area again I will be back!"
