"The Ridge Sierra offers apartment-style rentals. I was told all units have two bedrooms that sleep two people each plus a sofa bed in the living room that sleeps two. Each unit has a master bedroom with a queen bed and attached bathroom, a hall bathroom, and another bedroom with either a queen bed or two twin beds depending on the unit. The kitchen was fairly well-stocked, with appliances including a coffee maker (with coffee and tea), toaster, and blender. There is a stove, but instead of an oven there is a microwave-oven combination appliance that we found to be only effective as a microwave. Our unit had a glass-enclosed balcony, which was useful for storing ski gear after skiing. You're about a 10-minute walk from the Stagecoach lodge at Heavenly. The shuttles will also pick you up, though you need to call them so they know to stop. On the return trip from the ski lodge, you can just ask them to drop you off at the Ridge Sierra. You have access to a rooftop hot tub which closes at 9, but they won't kick you out if you're in before then. They gave us a parking pass to keep in your dashboard when parked in front of the Ridge Sierra. I was told I could stay parked there the day I checked out, but I didn't end up skiing that day and left early. My only complaint is that only the hall bathroom had a hair dryer, and ours was broken."
"Wonderful experience staying here. Condo was roomy, all the basics you need. Just bring clothes, food (including oil and seasonings) and toiletries. Great views. Climbing the stairs can be tough at altitude but worth it"
"This location, perched above Stateline is a perfect location. Close to hiking, shopping and beautiful Lake Tahoe. We enjoyed our stay and took advantage of offerings at the activity center, the pool and the bistro. ( Great food and wonderful service there!) We had a stress free, relaxing week."
"If you get a cheap rate, maybe worth it. Pros 1. Rustic but comfortable unit. Living room, DR, full kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and a deck with a view to die for. We stayed in summer, so the deck was perfect. Having breakfast and playing games with the family on the outdoor deck, looking over the valley, was the highlight. 2. Jacuzzis and grills on the top floor with a view over the valley. (At least in summer). Cons: 0. Bedbugs. Can happen anywhere, but when I called to report it, they just said, “ok” but didn’t ask for the room number or anything. 1. Amenities are inconveniently at the Holiday Inn / Tahoe Ridge resort a mile up the road — you have to drive to get to the pool, courts, bistro, billiards. 2. Weak WiFi , often unusable. 3. No air conditioning. We just opened windows and it wasn’t too hot up on the mountain, and they provide fans, but during a heat wave you might be unhappy. 4. Other guests were smoking weed and the smell drifted over to our deck. Blech. So much for “non smoking facility.” 5. Worst, least welcoming checkin experience EVER. The staff is remotely located in Reno and you speak to them by phone/video. The woman we dealt with was ridiculously rude, unhelpful, scolding. 6. This property is 15-20 min out of town, up the hill. Not secluded — it’s on a loop of at least 20 other somewhat ugly hotels/condos/timeshares. Ski in/out of Heavenly, but no advantage in summer. 7. Not walkable. No sidewalks, paths, trails. 8. No elevators, lots of stairs. Unit will be 1-4 flights of stairs away from your car. Like I said… Rustic. Fine for us, but if you can’t handle stairs, stay elsewhere."
