"Hands down the best hunter jumper barn in gardnervile/Carson. Friendly staff and the trainer is knowledgeable and has a true gift. We drive 1.5 hr to ride with Madchen and it's worth it evertime!"
"Rock-A-Bye Ranch has been the most wonderful facility to board my horse. My horse has the opportunity to truly be a horse and I have had a sanctuary for myself. All animals here - horses (big & tiny), donkeys, goats, chickens, a pig, alpaca - are living the life. The owner is highly responsive and reliable. The rest of the staff is caring. There are nearby dirt-roads & trails for access for the trail-lovers, and a covered arena for training. Not to mention the paddocks for turn-out are large and grow ample grass in the warm months - and the views!!! This facility is a dream come true."
"Rock-A-Bye ranch has been amazing from the day I went to check them out. I moved here from Alabama with my horse. Espresso was shipped here professionally in the winter, the driver was stuck in Reno and couldn't get all the way to Gardnerville. Madchen was amazing and had him stay at a friends barn and picked him up herself when the weather permitted. Madchen loves every horse at that barn like they are her own. She is an amazing teacher and I have learned a lot from her. She pushes each rider out of there comfort zone just a bit. She is caring, sweet and extremely knowledgable in the Equine world. She tries her hardest to suit everyones needs from making sure each horse gets great care to making sure everyone who wants to compete can. I am extremely lucky to have found a barn that not only makes me feel welcome but also my two fur babies."
"Rock a Bye Ranch which is owned and operated by Madchen Giesler is a 5 star facility for your horse and for your riding needs. If you are a beginner rider or experienced rider you will be rest assured that you and your horse will be taken care of exclusively by Madchen. The facility is kept clean from horses stalls to outdoor pens to the large indoor arena. Horses have the pleasure to "be horses" at this facility. Horses in stalls have lovely lush green turn outs and pasture horses get the pleasure of living the pasture life set beneath beautiful Jobs Peak on lush green fields. If you are a beginner or advanced rider, know that Madchen adjusts her teaching techniques to accompany your goals. As a beginner rider I am truely lucky to have found this "diamond" being Rock a Bye Ranch and Madchen. I have been riding for 3 years and am truely ecstatic on my progress as a rider and horse owner. Madchen takes the time to make sure you are comfortable and understand what you are doing and why you are doing it. As a rider I appreciate the fact that Madchen takes her time to properly teach me to be a well educated horse owner and rider. I have come to find everyone at the barn has become family. We support each other on our success's and console each other in our difficulties. We are more then friends, I consider everyone at the barn my true family. Rock a Bye Ranch is my happy place and if you too are looking for that extra something, you should definitely consider Rock a Bye Ranch."
"I have been riding at Rock-A-Bye Ranch for a few years now. I did not start riding till I was in my 50s, and while Madchen was not my original trainer, she is the one I have stuck with after trying and being dissatisfied with several others. She knows her stuff. Not only that, but this is one of the few barns I know of where are horses are not only well cared for but treated with respect, and they get lots of loving and treats. Everyone at this facility is helpful. I would highly recommend both Madchen and Rock-A-Bye Ranch."
