Silver State Wrestling Academy

Silver State Wrestling Academy, located at 1185 California Avenue in Reno, Nevada, is a health institution dedicated to providing quality programming for athletes of all skill levels ages 6 and up. Our elite coaches with collegiate experience are committed to helping athletes realize and reach their wrestling potential. Our mission is to consistently improve and add value to every individual we encounter, aiming to become a thriving and contributing member of the Reno/Sparks & Carson City communities.

All athletes must be members of USA Wrestling to register with SSWA. Our youth program focuses on teaching the foundations of wrestling and body awareness, with the goal of becoming a feeder program for our competitive youth program. Graduation to the next level is based on individual progress.

For young athletes in 1st - 7th grade who have completed our beginner program, our youth program helps build fundamentals, teach safe techniques, and ensure a fun experience. For athletes in 8th - 12th grade at any skill level, our program focuses on building on wrestling experience, solidifying fundamentals, and preparing athletes to reach their full potential on the state and national levels, with college exposure opportunities.

Parents are asked to be present at practice if their child has difficulty listening or paying attention, to ensure a productive learning environment for all athletes. We prioritize the growth and development of each individual, and look forward to helping athletes on their wrestling journey.
