"If I could give zero stars I would. We prepaid for 2 weeks. Our airline moved our flight ahead by a day so we made a 2nd rental for one day for the same type of vehicle. They would note let us combine the 2, so have to come back the next day to drop off and pick up. Which the agent stated we could come back anytime the next day to do. The van was disgusting inside, there was sand everywhere including the dash, could barley see out of the windows, there were loose candies on the floor and some red soda splashed on the dash and front passenger door panel. Next morning went to exchange the vehicle for our 2nd rental. They wanted to charge us for an extra day because we were picking it up before our scheduled time, so we decided to come back later. When we arrived later, now they decided to charge us $266 more for some taxes they claimed were not paid, even though earlier in the day the total was only $65 for the extra day. Our paperwork clearly showed all the taxes were paid, but they wouldn't release the vehicle unless we paid the additional funds. Went to return the vehicle at the end of our trip, there was a large line because it was Sunday night. She scanned the door and confirmed the full fuel and said I would get an email for the bill. No email was sent, and my credit card was charged and additional $353.75"

"I wish I had read the reviews before I booked! I’ve never experienced this before when I’ve rented a car. They are the slowest getting you checked in.They try to add more and more additional ways to make more money. Then you can expect to wait more than 1/2 an hour to an hour waiting for them to wash your car while everyone is waiting for the same thing. The car only had 1/3 of a full tank of gas!"

"If this was the last car rental agency in the world….you should walk. They literally robbed me. I prepaid for my rental car and after months of going back and forth with their “customer service” I had an email that confirmed my prepaid rental. When at Lihue they would not provide me with my prepaid car. When I said they already had my money they literally started mocking me. When I walked away, realizing they were just going to rob me, a manager came over and physically bumped me. If you enjoy being robbed, mocked and assaulted, this is your spot. I’m still out my prepaid amount. Brutal excuse for a company."

"Dollar charged me $32 for gas upon car return even though I brought it back with a full tank. There is no phone number to call with concerns and the company is not responding to my online complaint form. I was ok with the slow staff at the location and the pressure to buy additional insurance, but the charge was bogus. Will not go through Dollar again."

"Absolutely poor customer service and attitude. I was trying to help someone and they told me to get out due to a rule only 1 person per household could be there at a time. I get that but exceptions need to be granted. Also they were giving me a lot of attitude when I asked what time the car rental returns close. It’s unnecessary. You want tourists to come and rent cars? Please try your best to be polite to incoming passengers. This is why I stick to other rental companies. This island relies on tourism."
